about the artist
Emma Ballard began singing and songwriting new age inspired songs in 2003, then after swinging between multiple genres of soft rock, acoustic, chill out and dance, wrote a string of 60’s influenced blues-infused songs in later years and has recently returned back to her esoteric-writing roots.
After releasing her debut album ‘Reverie’ under the artist name of New Age Writer in 2008, Emma wrote a number of songs that remain unreleased except for a five-track blues EP titled ‘Homage To Music & Love’ which was released in 2016 under the artist name of T For Trubbs.
Emma has collaborated in Australia with soul artist Caleb Lafietele, played in a duo with Myles Larsen and has worked with producer Scott French (Love Street Studios) on a catalogue of songs. Emma also wrote a dance track for Annabel Sara produced by Brad Hosking (Blind Boy Studios) in 2019.
New tracks are in the process of being recorded at Core Studios with producer Nik Carpenter with a single scheduled to be released in late 2023.
In 2004, Emma was lead singer of London band Sananda’s Aura and Brisbane band Seventh Ray in 2010 and completed a Diploma of Music at Coomera TAFE in 2014.
Originally from the UK, Emma was born in Paddington, grew up in Edgware, attended school in Finchley and graduated from the University Of Westminster in London’s Regent Street.
